Firefighter Hurt When Ladder Snaps Off Truck
ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- A firefighter was injured over the weekend when a ladder snapped from a fire truck at the scene of a blaze that destroyed an auto repair shop in Beaver County.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, crews were called to Junak's Auto Repair on Franklin Avenue in Aliquippa around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
The blaze destroyed the business, and while on the scene, an aerial ladder on one of the fire trucks broke -- sending it crashing to the ground.
The injured firefighter, identified as James "J.T." Pennington, suffered a broken elbow and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment, according to the Post-Gazette.
No one was injured inside the repair shop.
