Crews Battle Abandoned House Fire In Jeannette

JEANNETTE (KDKA) – Crews are investigating after another abandoned house was set on fire Westmoreland County Friday night.

According to emergency dispatchers, the fire broke out at a home in the 300-block of Chestnut Street in Jeannette around 10:30 p.m.

A firefighter was injured by broken glass, but there are no other reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Police in Jeannette already have their hands full with an arsonist who has been setting abandoned houses on fire. A total of nine fires have been reported in the last four months.

All of the fires are within blocks of each other.
