Crescent Township Police Officer Hospitalized Following Crash
CRESCENT TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) - A Crescent Township police officer was hurt in a head-on collision early Friday morning.
KDKA spoke to the Crescent Township police chief who says the officer involved was taken to Sewickley Hospital. The chief believes the other driver may have been impaired at the time.
State police say 60-year-old Tami Rodger was driving on McGovern Boulevard just after midnight when she crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit the police vehicle.
Both vehicles had to be towed away and the police cruiser was totaled.
Police say the officer was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Rodger is suspected of DUI and state police say charges will be filed pending toxicology results.
