Cows Injured, Some Euthanized After I-80 Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) – All westbound lanes have reopened on Interstate 80 in western Pennsylvania after a trailer loaded with cows tipped over in what police believe is a weather-related crash.
The crash happened before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and shut down the right lane of I-80 between exits 64 and 70.
As of 8:30, though, the road was reopened.
State police haven't said whether other vehicles were involved in the crash, or precisely what caused it except to confirm that snowy conditions and icy roads were likely a factor.
Troopers from the Clarion barracks say some of the cows in the trailer were injured and had to be euthanized.
