Cowher To Return To Coaching?
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher is reportedly ready to return to coaching in the NFL.
Cowher's wish list of teams to are the New York Giants (9-5), Houston Texans (5-9), or the Miami Dolphins (7-7) according to a report from ESPN. The source noted Cowher likes those teams because "those markets represent strong ownership with a good talent base."
Reports have surfaced that Texans' coach Gary Kubiak and Dolphins' coach Tony Sparano are at risk of losing their jobs after mediocre seasons.
Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin will be in the final year of his contract next season.
Cowher coached the Steelers to a Super Bowl title in 2005 and has a career coaching record of 149-90-1.
He is currently a CBS Sports NFL analyst and has been working there since 2007.
Cowher has publicly said he would be open to hearing what is available, but would not comment until the season is over.
