Cowher Ready For Cold, Snowy Wild Card Weekend
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- He coached the Steelers for nearly 15 years and guided them to a victory in Super Bowl XL. But for the past several years, Bill Cowher has worked as a network studio analyst for CBS.
On Friday morning, Cowher was in the studio with a look ahead at the first round of the playoffs.
Winter's wrath is touching this weekend's NFL playoffs games.
"That's why it's called the frozen tundra in Green Bay. It's going to be back up there again. I think the one advantage that they have is an opportunity to practice in it," Cowher said. "Mike McCarthey will take his team out there today and yesterday just to get acclimated to it, but I think once the game starts it is still going to playing the game. San Francisco will be fine."

He says he's not surprised people have been slow to buy tickets this week, and three of the four stadiums were not sold out, forcing the NFL to extend its deadline or black-out playoff games in home markets.
"When you look at the economics, I think as you are looking at it, you are talking about minimal numbers," said Cowher. "I think the comforts of home with some of the weather has a lot to do with it as well, but I think the bottom line is all these stadiums will be sold out by game day."
And Cowher addressed the constant chatter that he's headed back to the sidelines.
"There's nothing to that. I was never contacted by the Washington Redskins," said Cowher. "I really have enjoyed my time at CBS and being a part of the NFL Today crew. It really does satisfy that. I'm close enough to it, but at the end it's not the all-encompassing part coaching entails. It's a 12-month job and I like my lifestyle right now and I like the job I have at CBS."
So for an analyst who watches all the games -- who is he picking to go all the way?
"I like Denver with the storybook that's taking place with Peyton Manning, and I think the winner of the San Francisco-Green Bay game… I think San Francisco, if they can get by Green Bay are good," said Cowher. "And if Green Bay gets it, they've got Aaron Rodgers back, I could see that sort of matchup in the Super Bowl.
The Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers play here on CBS Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
