County Police Probe Reported Carjacking At Station Square
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating an unusual incident.
According to Penn Hills police, the 25-year-old female victim told a friend she was going to a bar Sunday night in Station Square.
Just before 4 a.m., she reportedly sent a message to a friend and said she was carjacked by two armed men while driving her white 2009 Mercedes at Station Square.
Penn Hills police have since turned the investigation over to Allegheny County detectives.
Since then, county police have been interviewing witnesses looking for clues into the woman's disappearance. At this point, police say they are getting conflicting stories and cannot confirm nor deny if the woman was really carjacked and abducted.
Late Monday afternoon, KDKA's Bob Allen spoke with the victim's mother who said her daughter is now safe and apparently unharmed.
She also said the Mercedes has since been recovered, but the victim's mother said she has not seen her daughter and is waiting to hear from her.
Police also want to talk to the woman to find out more about the ordeal and to get some leads on the two men involved in the alleged kidnapping and carjacking.
