Colby Armstrong Embraces Second Chance With Therrien In Montreal
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Former Penguins forward Colby Armstrong is back with former Pens head coach Michel Therrien, this time in Montreal.
Armstrong tells 93-7 The Fan, "[Therrien's] been great with our group. He came into a situation where a team wasn't doing so well. I think he's familiar with that, so it was easy for him to adapt right away to turning things around."
A year after finishing with the worst record in the Eastern Conference, Therrien has the Canadiens are leading the East with 29 points before their match-up with the Penguins on Saturday.
"He still has the same accountability for guys," Armstrong told Starkey, Miller and Mueller. "We're playing good, solid hockey right now."
Armstrong said he loved his time growing up in the Pens' organization.
Armstrong also remembers a famous rant when Therrien was the Pens' head coach. After a game, he said the Pens goal "was to be the worst defensive team in the league," and that "the team didn't care."
"Those are things in hockey you just don't forget about, " Armstrong said.
