PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One person was injured during a shooting at a Pittsburgh nightclub early Saturday morning.
According to a criminal complaint, officers were sent to Club Taboo in the East Hills around 12:40 a.m. for a report of a shooting with one victim.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the club's DJ had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told officers he didn't know who shot him.
The victim was transported to a local hospital.
A club employee told police she heard a gunshot then saw a man she knew as "Gritty," later identified as 34-year-old Jason Lawson, running toward the door carrying a firearm. The club employee said when she asked Lawson if the shooting was an accident, Lawson said, "No."
Officers found a possible address for Lawson on Guylyn Drive in Penn Hills during their investigation.
Lawson arrived at the home on Guylyn Drive while officers were still on the scene. As he got out of the vehicle, he allegedly told an officer, "The burner is under the seat."
Officers then detained Lawson.
Police say Lawson said the gun accidentally went off when he was adjusting the firearm.
Lawson is being charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure.
