Cleanup Set To Begin On Route 28 Rockslide
ETNA (KDKA) -- Drivers traveling on Route 28 near the Etna bypass this weekend will have to slow down as crews will be working to clean up a massive rockslide.
Work is set to begin Friday morning and continue around the clock throughout the weekend.
A safety fence kept the rocks from tumbling onto the road.
One of the boulders is four to five tons and there are even larger and heavier ones above it.
Officials say there should be minimal impact on traffic as most of the work is being done in the area of the exit ramp to Route 8 North.
The ramp is long and traffic is expected to get by without much of a problem.
But officials are asking drivers to take extra caution while traveling through that area.
