City Vandalism Victim Offers $10,000 Reward
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A reward is being offered after two incidents of vandalism in the Shadyside-North Oakland area of the city.
Alexis England works for the homeowner on Wallingford Street who's had nearly $3,000 worth of damage done.
She says after the first vandalism took place on March 2nd, things remained relatively quiet until this past Friday, when once again, a vandal damaged another car – this time throwing a brick in the rearview window while it was parked on the street in the overnight hours.
"It's not really safe for his kids, you know," England said. "If he knows that there's people running around with bricks throwing them at property so it's unsettling."
A neighbor, who has lived on the street for more than 30 years, says he too has had a brick thrown through his car window in the past along with having his tires slashed.
"Why would they do that? Is it out of envy or simply because it's a quiet street and probably there would not be a police car at the corner? I don't know why?" he said.
Police are reviewing the evidence and in the meantime, the victim hopes the $10,000 reward helps bring those responsible to justice.
