Chryst Responds To Franklin's Claim That PSU Will Own Pa.
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt football head coach Paul Chryst wrapped up his recruiting class today and then joined Starkey and Mueller to tell the guys what he thinks about the players they've brought in and Penn State head coach James Franklin's claim that they'd own the state of Pennsylvania.
When it comes to his own recruiting class, Chryst told the guys he sees a lot of good fits.
"I really like the guys we got, and obviously we should, or we're not doing our jobs right," Chryst said. "I'm excited about the guys that we got, if you just looked at the other kids we've gotten from Western Pennsylvania, I absolutely think these guys are a great fit and I think they help make us better."
Chryst also responded to the claims made by new Penn State's Franklin that they would own the state of Pennsylvania when it comes to recruiting.
"I heard people talk about it, I didn't hear him say that. People can talk about whatever they want to say, I think it's what you do. You really don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. We know it's a competitive world. People can talk all they want, the actions are going to speak loudest," Chryst said.
You can also hear Chryst talk about one of their top recruits, running back Chris James, and what his arrival will mean for current running back James Conner as there has been talk about the team moving him to defensive end or possibly playing on both sides of the ball.
