Power's Chris Siegfried Discusses Victory, Bye Week
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Pittsburgh Power head coach Chris Siegfried recently joined 93-7 The Fan's Troy Clardy to react to last Saturday's dramatic upset of the San Jose SaberCats at CONSOL Energy Center and discuss his plans for the Power's second and final bye week of the 2011 AFL regular season.
Although arena football is known as a run-and-gun sport with lots of offense, Coach Siegfried believes the Power's defense has been essential to the team staying in the playoff hunt. He also talks about the resiliency of quarterback Bernard Morris, who has won both starts since coming off injured reserve, and looks at the impact that local players like Aliquippa grad Mike Washington are having on the Power.
Siegfried also talked about what it means to beat a perennial power like San Jose, and what it will do for the team's confidence moving forward, while assessing the team's overall performance up to the midpoint of the season.
