Chase Suspect's Car Crashes Into Marshall-Shadeland Home
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The New Year really did begin with a bang for one local woman.
Pittsburgh Police arrested a man Tuesday evening after a chase on Richardson Avenue in the city's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood. The suspect's car ended up hitting the porch of a home.
The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Rodney Marshman of Marshall-Shadeland. He is facing charges of receiving stolen property, drug possession and escape.
Police said they found more than $2,000 in cash in the car along with what they called "a bundle of heroin."
The suspect was arrested a short distance from the scene after the crash.
Jackie Grier, who was at home with her family, told KDKA-TV that she thought the car came into the house, adding that the crash shook the entire home.
"I was upstairs in my room, in bed, and I heard this boom, this loud crash. I said what was that?" Grier said. "I ran downstairs and saw this car was trying to come in my front door."
Sources told KDKA-TV that the suspect was picked up only last month on a gun-related charge.
