Charlie Morton's Surgery Successful
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pirates' pitcher Charlie Morton's hip surgery was successful.
Dr. Thomas Byrd performed the operation in Nashville, Tenn.
Morton had a torn labrum in his left hip, according to the Pirates.
The Pirates say he suffered the nagging injury late in the 2011 season.
It usually takes about six months to recover from this kind of surgery.
