CBS NFL Analyst Boomer Esiason: "The Steelers Have Real Problems"
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-NFL Today on CBS Analyst Boomer Esiason joined The Cook and Poni Show on Friday after calling the Steelers-Ravens game on Thursday night.
Boomer tells the guys he expected the Steelers poor showing in the second half and the Ravens dealing with the dark cloud hanging over the organization might lead to an easy Steelers win which is what he called, but it's not what we saw.
"If you are the Steelers and you are giving up the yards they are on the ground and you don't get turnovers, you have problems," Esiason said.
Boomer told the guys that he has been a big supporter of the Steelers and picked them to have a bounce back year but does he still feel that way?
"Not after last night," Esiason said. "But it's not the end of the world going on the road and losing to a team in your division."
Boomer said the Ravens had so much more to play for last night because they could not afford to start with two losses at home to two division teams to open the season.
The Steelers offense struggles continued as they have now gone six-straight quarters without scoring a touchdown being outscored 50-9 in that span.
"The struggles were magnified by turnovers and Ben missing two wide open receivers that would have gone for big gains," Esiason told the guys. "The last 6 quarters have not been very pretty for the offense or Ben Roethlisberger."
