CBS' Jim Nantz: Steelers & Patriots Are More Alike Than You May Think
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Jim Nantz will be on the call for the CBS broadcast of Steelers-Patriots this Sunday, and he previews the game with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.
"I think New England and Pittsburgh are kind of in similar places, even thought the records are polar opposite," Nantz says. "They're both not as good as we've come to expect them to be. When I look at New England, I don't know how in the world they're 6-2. They're missing so many parts."
The last time Nantz saw the Steelers in person, they were beating the New York Jets. But since then, things haven't fallen the Steelers' way as Nantz thought they would.
"I really thought after we left the booth that day that we'd see them in New England at 3-4," he admits. "I don't know why I looked past the Oakland game, but I did. Yeah, I'm surprised. I really thought they'd be back in gear by now."
That said, Nantz has a message for Steelers fans: "Don't give up on it yet. If the Steelers go up to New England and walk out with a win, they're 3-5 at the midway point. There's still a long, long way to go; 9-7 probably gets you in as a Wild Card."
