Carnegie Man Arrested In Boston For Incident After Pens-Bruins Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police in Massachusetts say a Carnegie man is facing charges for allegedly threatening and assaulting another man following the Pittsburgh Penguins' season-ending loss to the Boston Bruins Friday night.
According to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Transit Police, 29-year-old Ryan Baessler of Carnegie was arrested around 11:30 p.m. at a Boston-area transit station.
He is facing a disorderly conduct charge in the incident.
MBTA Transit Police say several Bruins' fans alerted officers to the alleged assault just outside the station.
Police say when they got to the scene they saw Baessler "grab hold of another, unidentified male's neck while screaming threats directed towards him."
According to authorities, Baessler is accused of becoming "belligerent and combative" and tried to spit and kick the officers who tried to bring the situation under control.
The victim left the area before officers could talk to him, police said.
MBTA Transit police have not released a motive and say it's not clear if Baessler was upset over the Penguins' loss.
Baessler will be arraigned on June 10.
