Carnegie Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested
CARNEGIE (KDKA) – A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery Tuesday morning in Carnegie has been arrested.
According to police, the robbery happened at the Family Dollar in the 300-block of Broadway Avenue around 8 a.m.
The suspect was described as being an African-American male in his 50s who was wearing a black, hooded jacket and a black ski mask.
The suspect allegedly pointed a long barrel revolver at a clerk and demanded money.
After receiving the money, he fled the store.
Around 11 p.m. police tracked down the suspect at his residence on Railroad Avenue and arrested him.
He has since been identified as 58-year-old Barney Ransome.
Ransome is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail and is facing a list of charges including, robbery, theft and aggravated assault.
