Distracted Driver Crashes Car Into House In Westmoreland County
HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) - A car drove into a house that is almost 60 feet off the road in Westmoreland County.
The driver claims his phone went off and when he tried to silence it, he lost control.
The driver wasn't injured, but his BMW was damaged.
The homeowner, Richard Mahoney, says his house has been a hot spot for this kind of activity.
"They come through this corner pretty fast here but this is the first time anybody's hit the house," he said.
"Usually they'll hit the bushes or graze off the tree or something. But this is the first time the house has been hit."
The homeowner says the car hit his basement window.
Neither Mahoney or his wife, who were inside during the crash, were injured.
