Calif. Man Charged In Lawrence Co. Jail Bomb Threats
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) - Local authorities said they will move to extradite a suspect from California in connection with bomb threats phoned in to the Lawrence County Jail.
Officials say the Lawrence County Jail received three threats earlier this month from a man threatening to blow up the facility. The jail was searched each time and no suspicious devices were found, but visitors and other members of the public were barred from the jail.
Authorities said they linked the calls to a phone belonging to a 22-year-old Orlando, Calif., man who has been incarcerated at the jail before.
County prison board chairman David Gettings said the suspect is being treated for a medical problem, but would be brought to Pennsylvania to face charges.
