Butler Man Killed In Overnight Crash
CENTER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Butler County man is dead following an overnight one-vehicle crash in Center Township.
State police have identified the victim as 47-year-old Bradley Wardle of Butler. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the crash happened just after midnight on Sunset Drive at Stoughton Acres.
According to state police, Wardle was headed north in a 1998 Volkswagen Passat when it traveled off the eastbound lane and hit a utility pole and then a fence.
Investigators say they believe the vehicle may have been going at a "high rate of speed."
State police report that the vehicle came to a stop "154 feet from the initial point of impact."
State police say the investigation is ongoing as they try to determine the cause of the crash.
