Officials: Pickup Truck Driver Killed In Crash With State Police SUV
MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The driver of a pickup truck was killed early Tuesday morning in an accident with a state police SUV in Butler County.
The accident happened around 6:20 a.m. on the westbound side of Route 228 in Middlesex Township.
According to state police, the driver who died was ejected from the truck and ended up next to the trooper's SUV. The victim's name has not yet been released.

State police remained on the accident scene for several hours reconstructing the crash. They believe the pickup truck driver crossed over the double yellow line into the trooper's lane and hit the SUV head-on.
"This morning there was a trooper heading westbound on 228," said Trooper James Long, of Pennsylvania State Police. "A pickup truck came, coming in the opposite direction, entered his lane. There was a head-on collision. Both vehicles were severely damaged."
The Butler County Coroner's Office was called to the scene.
"There was treatment given at the scene, but, unfortunately, the coroner had to come out and he was pronounced dead," said Trooper Long.
The trooper was on-duty at the time of the crash. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Officials say it is too soon to tell what caused the crash.
"There's troopers on scene right now doing reconstruction, trying to figure out exactly as precisely as they can how the crash happened. There's also our police here that are helping us control the scene," Trooper Long said.
