Butler County Man's Death Ruled A Homicide
BUTLER (KDKA) -- Police are looking for a rifle that's missing from a Butler County business where the owner was found shot to death over the weekend.
Investigators have now ruled the death of 45-year-old Robert Gauurich as a homicide.
He was found dead Friday night at Bob's Truck & Auto Repair on Evans City Road. Gauurich, a mechanic and owner of the business, suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.
"He was my best, best friend. I couldn't have asked for a better companion," said Jessica Hoover, Gauurich's fiancée.
Investigators say they think Gauurich was shot inside his repair shop. A blood trail led outside to where his body was found.
There was no sign of forced entry, but police say a rifle that Gauurich kept at the garage and wanted to sell is missing.
"He was shot with a .30-30, and that was the kind of gun somebody was supposed to come look at," said Hoover. "I don't know who this person is."
State police are reviewing surveillance video from a camera that was posted outside of the repair shop.
