Burnett Suffers Eye Injury
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher A.J. Burnett injured his eye in a bunting drill Wednesday at spring training in Bradenton, Fla.
Burnett reportedly bunted the ball, which deflected off his bat and into his eye. He was helped off the field by a trainer but was reportedly in good spirits.
The severity of the injury is not yet known. The organization chose to send him back to Pittsburgh to be evaluated by doctors.
The injury is to his right eye.
