Building's Brick Facade Falls, Damages Cars In Washington Co.
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- A local man says he's lucky to be alive after the brick facade of building came crashing down on his car just moments after he left the driver's seat.
Demetrius Ballard just pulled into the parking lot of the Badiali Medical Building at 829 Jefferson Avenue in Washington, Pa.
"I heard the crash and soon after the alarms went off and I looked back and saw the devastation. I just thank God that's all," he told KDKA's Kym Gable.
Four cars were totaled. The fire department believes the freeze and thaw combined with this morning's fierce winds caused the two-story wall to collapse.
No one was injured.
