Bucs: Pirates Pound Twins, 17-6
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pirates opened with a mammoth 10-run first inning and routed the Minnesota Twins Thursday, 17-6.
The best way to describe the game might be just by the stats alone:
- Left fielder Alex Presley went 3-of-4 from the plate with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored.
- Right fielder Jose Tabata went 1-of-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Center fielder Andrew McCutchen walked twice, drove in a run and scored three runs.
- Designated hitter Garrett Jones hit 3-of-4 with four RBIs and a homer.
- First baseman Matt Hague was 3-of-4 from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.
Jo-Jo Reyes pitched two and a third innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks.
