Bucs: Pirates Draft Results, Rounds 2-10
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates made nine selections Tuesday in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.
They went more position heavy in rounds 2-10, selecting two catchers, two shortstops a third baseman and an outfielder along with three pitchers.
Here's a list of the draft picks from rounds 2-10...
Round 2:
Wyatt Mathisen, catcher, high school
Round 3:
Jonathan Sandfort, right-handed pitcher, high school (committed to Florida)
Round 4:
Brandon Thomas, outfielder, Georgia Tech
Round 5:
Adrian Sampson, right-handed pitcher, Bellevue Community College (committed to Oregon)
Round 6:
Eric Wood, third base, Blinn College
Round 7:
Jacob Stallings, catcher, North Carolina
Round 8:
Kevin Ross, shortstop, high school (committed to Michigan)
Round 9:
D.J. Crumlich, shortstop, UC Irvine
Round 10:
Pat Ludwig, right-handed pitcher, Yale
