Bruins Analyst Jack Edwards Admits Predicting Pens To Beat Bruins
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Controversial Bruins analyst Jack Edwards has often been critical of the Penguins for their play, but when it came to predicting the Eastern Conference Finals, admits he is surprised how things have turned out as the Bruins currently sit comfortable with a 3-0 series lead.
"I picked Pittsburgh this series, and I picked the Penguins to win this series quite publicly. I'm stunned," he said. "I don't know anybody who saw the Bruins up three games to none. I don't know anybody who saw the Bruins allowing two goals in three games."
We also discuss the no-call of Jaromir Jagr's hook on Evgeni Malkin in the second overtime that led to the game-winning goal, and if Edwards agreed with the refs not making the call.
"Either a hook or high stick, either one. I can't get in any lower standing with the NHL office, so I can say that I think Marc Joannette and Dan O'Rourke had as bad a game as any conference finals pair of officials have had so far. It was bad; it was incredibly inconsistent," he said. "There were missed calls in both directions. There were scoring chances denied on rules violations. It was a badly officiated game."
Edwards also went on to discuss NBC favoring the Pens in that they want Sidney Crosby in the Stanley Cup Finals because it's good for ratings, and how much farther he sees this series going.
