Brewers Run With Ease On McKenry
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Pittsburgh Pirates three-game winning streak came to an end Monday night at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers were very active on the base paths, as they stole six bases against catcher Michael McKenry.
"McKenry, I think he'll be the first to tell you that he needs to be a little better with it, maybe needs to work on a few things," Root Sports Reporter Robby Incmikoski told Colin Dunlap. Incmikoski added that timing is a big part of stolen bases, and wondered if the Brewers were timing A.J. Burnett's delivery to the plate.
With Jason Grilli set in the closer's role and Mark Melancon pitching as the set-up man, Dunlap wondered if the seventh inning role has been settled yet.
"I would think it's still Tony Watson's job to be that unofficial seventh inning guy," Incmikoski said. Incmikoski added that while Watson hit a few rough spots, there's no reason for Clint Hurdle and Ray Searage to not have any confidence in him.
