Home Destroyed By Intense Lawrence Co. Fire

NESHANNOCK TWP. (KDKA) - Firefighters were called to the scene of an intense fire that destroyed a home in Lawrence County early Wednesday morning.

According to officials at the scene, the fire started around 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 1200-block of Kings Chapel Road in Neshannock Township.

A passerby saw the fire and called 911.

A mother, Jennifer Bees, carried her 6-year-old daughter out of the home. She then went back inside to try and rescue her 16-year-old son with autism.

Bees broke a window and yelled for help as Neshannock Township Police Officer Shawn Hill arrived. Officer Hill and the passerby helped the Bees and her son make it out of the window.

An 11-year-old girl was initially unaccounted for, but was later found to be with her father.

Bees was taken to Jameson Hospital to be treated for cuts to her feet. Her 16-year-old son was flown to UPMC Mercy Hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is believed to be accidental.
