Brazen Burglar Steals From Home While Couple Vacations In Las Vegas
MOUNT PLEASANT (KDKA) -- Gary Barbour, Sr. and his wife returned home from his first post-retirement vacation on Wednesday only to find that their Mount Pleasant home in Washington County had been burglarized.
But the couple is hoping that surveillance video of the suspect milling about outside the house, casing it, will help lead to the suspect's identity, and then ultimately to his arrest.
Barbour told KDKA's Ralph Iannotti that he and his wife realized they were burglarized when she went upstairs to get some change from a cash box, and the money in the box was gone.
Barbour said the crook made off with several thousand dollars, a 9mm gun, some ammunition and his wife's jewelry box.
In the surveillance video, the suspect is seen driving into and out of Barbour's driveway, then walking around the deck of the home, finally going inside the garage and house.
"Somebody knows the layout of my house, they have a gun, I know that now," said Barbour. "They have the keys to my life, and I have to change the locks and everything."
Mount Pleasant Township Police are investigating.
