Boxer Paul Spadafora Arrested In Jefferson Hills
JEFFERSON HILLS (KDKA) -- Police in Jefferson Hills say boxer Paul Spadafora may soon be facing charges following his arrest Thursday night for suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the Jefferson Hills Police Department, an officer stopped Spadafora's SUV after spotting it turn right on a red light from Jefferson Boulevard to Route 51 going at a high speed.
Police say "the officer ultimately detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver," and conducted field sobriety tests.
Investigators say Spadafora was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center to have blood drawn, but he refused.
He was then taken to the Jefferson Hills Police Department and later released into the custody of a friend.
Police say charges against Spadafora are expected to include DUI and maximum speed limits.
The investigation into the incident continues.
