Boomer Esiason: Steelers Loss To Raiders Would Be 'Unacceptable'
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - CBS NFL analyst Boomer Esiason thinks the stakes are very high for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they travel to face the Oakland Raiders.
Esiason previews the weekend ahead with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.
"If they go out and lay an egg out in Oakland this week, then you know the season is over for them," he warns. "It would be just totally unacceptable for a Mike Tomlin team to lose to a team like the Oakland Raiders being quarterbacked by Terrelle Pryor. You want to make sure that there's no doubt in anybody's mind that the Steelers are relevant and back in the mix again."
While Esiason has some doubts about Pryor's abilities, he has no qualms about what Ben Roethlisberger can do.
"While he may not be the best quarterback in the league, you know what? He's the best football player at the position," he admits. "If there is ever a quarterback who can overcome the shortcomings of an offensive line, it's him."
Esiason also tells what he makes of Brett Favre getting calls from the St. Louis Rams, how he sizes up the AFC North race, and why he already can't wait until the Steelers meet the Ravens on Thanksgiving night.
