Coroner: Baldwin Woman Killed With Knife
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- The body of a 21-year-old woman missing from Baldwin was found in Washington County.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco ruled the death of Karissa Kunco, whose body was found in the woods off Sabo Road in Mt. Pleasant Township, a homicide. She died from a knife wound.
Police and family members were concerned about her safety because of her volatile relationship with her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Jordan Clemons.
She had a protection from abuse order against him, but it expired last month. Kunco was last seen with him at a Walmart in South Strabane.
State police searched a home in Mt. Pleasant Township looking for him, but they didn't find anything.
"There is a possibility that the young lady was abducted by him and or just with him and obviously now that she has been found deceased, you can draw your own conclusion," State Trooper Joseph Christy said.
Meanwhile in the small village of Westland, a few miles from where Kunco's body was found, police surrounded a home on Dogwood Street and used a bullhorn outside the abandoned home of his grandmother asking him to come out with his hands up.
Police went inside, but no one was there.
One of Clemons relatives, Perry Ivery, read a brief statement to reporters.
"Jordan, if you're out there, we love you," Ivery said. "We want you to do the right thing, immediately. Please go to the nearest local authorities and turn yourself in so that we can get to the bottom of this."
Police say Clemons has an outstanding warrant for burglary, theft and simple assault for an incident that happened Sunday in Canonsburg.
State police ask anyone with information to call them at 724-223-5200.
