Bob Walk: Credit To Brewers' Hitters For Friday Win
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- The Pirates are in the midst of a nine-game road trip, and are 2-2 on the trip entering Saturday night's game in Milwaukee.
Francisco Liriano was the losing pitcher Friday night, but Broadcaster Bob Walk told Chris Mack on Bucco Talk that he tipped his hat to Brewers' hitters.
"The two pitches that got hit for a home run, yeah they were elevated, but they were both right on the inside corner," Walk said. "You can't live down out of the strike zone an entire game without ever taking a shot up and in."
Walk is not a fan of replay for several reasons, but one includes limiting a baseball staple.
"One of the things that I've really already missed about the game is the arguments; they're gone," Walk said. "Some of the great highlights that we see are the old arguments between guys like Bobby Cox, the Jim Leyland argument."
Walk told Mack that the offense is similar to last year, but there are a few ways that it can improve.
"I have to believe that we're going to see the offense that we saw last year, which is kind of a middle of the road as far as runs scored unless you have additions during the year, which can certainly happen," Walk said.
Walk added that another way the offense could improve is that individual players put up better numbers than last year.
