Bob Errey: This Team Will Never Be The Same If They Lose Tonight
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Root Sports Pens analyst Bob Errey joined "The Cook and Poni Show" on Tuesday to preview tonight's Game 7 between the Pens and Rangers at Consol Energy Center.
Errey says he would rather be the team coming home for Game 7 rather than the team coming off back-to-back wins.
"It's tough to beat a team three times at home," Errey said. "Being in front of your fans keeps the energy in your legs and it's tough to keep a team like the Pens down. I am feeling pretty good about it."
Errey would expect some minor line changes tonight and it could involve moving James Neal back with Evgeni Malkin to get Neal going. He says they have to find a way to get to Henrik Lundqvist tonight.
Errey agrees that all Game Sevens are big, but that this one could be organizational changing for the Pens if they fail to advance.
"This team will never be the same if they lose tonight," Errey said. "This could be the last game for some of these guys ever."
Errey said this game will come down to special teams and of course Marc-Andre Fleury, who needs to outplay Lundqvist tonight.
He said Fleury has been stellar in a couple of these games, but was so-so in Games 5 and 6. He says Fleury is still looking for that consistency as is the entire team.
Errey says the Rangers have found some magic and have come together as a team since the tragedy of Marty St. Louis losing him mother, but the Pens need to have some togetherness.
"There are always hurdles for good teams to overcome," Errey said. "We will find out how good they (Pens) are tonight."
