Bob Errey Recaps Penguins' Southeast Road Swing

PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--Every Monday morning, the Fan Morning Show talks to ROOT Sports' Penguins analyst, Bob Errey. This Monday, he joined the show following a Southeast Division  road trip sweep.

There are two concerns for the Penguins, who seem to battle through whatever is thrown their way. The first being the penalty kill. It has been phenomenal at times, but, it can be average at others. Bob thinks that it is just assignments, and knowing when to pressure, and when to be more passive.

The second is injuries. That has only been magnified by Evgeni Malkin sitting out Saturday's game in Florida. Bob thinks the injury is not severe, but that the team might want to rest the reigning MVP. Of risking injuries, Bob said, "Why throw a wrench in that now."

What is encouraging is that the Penguins are able to stand up to any team physically in the league. That seems to have been the goal of Ray Shero before the trade deadline. He succeeded, because the additions of Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray all add grit to the team.
