Blue Jackets' Dubinsky Suspended For One Game After Cross-Checking Penguins' Crosby
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The NHL Department of Player Safety issued a one-game suspension to the Columbus Blue Jackets' Brandon Dubinsky for cross-checking the Penguins' Sidney Crosby in Friday night's game.
During the game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus Friday night, Dubinsky hit Crosby on the back of the neck with his stick. Crosby collapsed on all fours, and Dubinsky hit him again on the back.
Saturday afternoon, it was decided that Dubinsky would be suspended for one game.
In a video, the NHL says the cross-check was "not overly violent or forceful," and Crosby suffered "no apparent injury" as a result.
The Penguins lost to the Blue Jackets, 2-1, in overtime.
