Bloomfield Man Critically Injured In Armed Robbery
BLOOMFIELD (KDKA) – A man is in critical condition after he was shot during a robbery in Bloomfield.
According to police, the shooting happened near the intersection of Corday Way and Orville Way around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Pat Quinn, 33, was walking home after completing his shift at Lou's Corner Bar on Liberty Avenue where he works as a bartender.
The robber demanded money and shot him in the chest.
"As I got closer, saw who he was and [I] made my niece's friend take off her shirt so we could apply pressure to the wound and try to keep him with us," Karla Baur, a neighbor, said.
Witnesses told police they saw a black male standing over Quinn and going through his pockets. Co-workers at the bar said Quinn couldn't have had more than $30 on him when he left the bar.
Steve Lardo, owner of Lou's Corner Bar, said he can't understand why it happened.
"If a person wanted to walk up to Pat and said, 'Hey man, I'm hurting. Can you help me?' Pat would have probably helped him," Lardo said.
The incident took place about 20 yards from Quinn's home. Quinn was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and was last listed in critical condition.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
