Black Bear, Cubs Spotted In Fox Chapel
FOX CHAPEL (KDKA) -- The Fox Chapel police department is warning residents to be on the lookout for a bear and two small cubs that have been seen in the area.
One resident had a close encounter with the bear in his backyard.
The chief said the bear postured, giving him the warning sign not to come any closer and that's when he noticed it had two small cubs with her.
Eventually they took off into the woods. The chief wants neighbors to be aware and to avoid going near the animal and to especially avoid getting caught between the mother and her cubs.
Alerts have been sent out to residents and to the schools.
