Billy Joel Concert Kicks Off Big Holiday Weekend
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- If you're a concertgoer this is the weekend for you with Billy Joel performing Friday night at PNC Park and Kenny Chesney at Heinz Field Saturday.
The parking lots around PNC Park were filled with tailgaters eating good food, drinking cold drinks and thinking of their favorite Billy Joel songs.
"New York State of mind I think. One I'd like to hear," David Taylor of Pittsburgh said.
"My favorite song is our Italian restaurant," January Bush of Zelienople said.
But, the good times stopped for about 20 minutes when the clouds moved in and the rain came down hard. The wind picked up and tailgaters tried to salvage their food.
"We just covered it with really clean brand new garbage bags," Roxanne Mirabile of Murrysville said.

"We put a nice cover over top. We held it down with beer cans of course and coolers and slid it in between cars," Taylor said.
One man flew in from England to see the music legend perform for the first time at PNC Park.
"Found out billy Joel is playing. came in last night. Had a couple friends here already. Great time," Edward Wilson from England said.
Friday's event kicks off a big concert weekend. Kenny Chesney performs Saturday night at Heinz Field. Some fans are going to both shows.
"I'm just gonna go there a ticket floating around I may go if I can find somewhere for the kids to have some fun," Mike Casillo of Pittsburgh said.
Cleaning up the parking lots will be priority once Billy Joel wraps up. The lots will be ready for Kenny Chesney fans Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
ALCO Parking will be handing out garbage and recycling bags to concert goers as a friendly reminder of where to put your trash.
