Big Ten Unveils New Logo, Other Changes
COLUMBUS, Ohio (KDKA/AP) — The Big Ten announced some big news and unveiled new logos on Monday.
First the announcement that the Big Ten will be split into two divisions came in September, and now they have named those two divisions, Leaders & Legends.
The Big Ten will also host their first championship next season for the Stagg-Paterno Trophy.
Penn State will join Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin in the Leaders division; while Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Northwestern will be in the Legends division.
In addition to the Stagg-Paterno Trophy, coaches will compete for the Hayes-Schembechler Coach of the Year award.
The offensive player of the year award will be named after Otto Graham and Eddie George, and the defensive player of the year award will honor Bronko Nagurski and Charles Woodson.
