Big Screen To Return For Pens' Playoff Games
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The regular season for the Pittsburgh Penguins has come to a close. Now, it's time for playoff hockey.
The Penguins will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, which is set to begin Wednesday night.
Fans fortunate enough to make it inside for when the puck drops on the Penguins' playoff run will receive a gold T-shirt and towel.
The inspiration for the "Gold-Out" stems from previous years where the team has called for a "Whiteout" in the stands.
As has become tradition in Pittsburgh, the big screen will be set up in the arena parking lot near the corner of Centre Avenue and Mario Lemieux Place.
In addition to the big screen, other aspects of the First Niagara Fan Zone will include:
- Special promotions & giveaways
- Pittsburgh food trucks
- PensGear merchandise trailer
The big screen will be available for road games as well this year.
For home games, the Fan Zone will open four hours before the puck drops. It will also open two hours prior to road games.
