Big Ben: We Have To Take Care Of Our Own Business First
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The #1 Cochran Ben Roethlisberger Show features the Pittsburgh Steelers QB with Ron Cook on the midday show on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.
After a win over the Packers and a few other things the Steelers needed on Sunday, playoff hopes are still alive.
The Steelers need to beat the Cleveland Browns in the season finale and hope to get help.
"If we don't take care of our business it doesn't matter what anyone else does," Roethlisberger said. "We expect everything from them. It will be a typical AFC slug fest."
If the Steelers don't get the help they need, it's still important to Ben to go out with a win.
"I have always had the goal to never have a losing season," Roethlisberger said. "I know 8-8 is not a winning season, but it's not losing either. We got to try and get this one."
It was a great win for the Steelers in Lambeau on Sunday. It had everything, snow, wind, cold and legendary teams.
"I could not imagine a better scenario for my first time playing there," Roethlisberger said. "It's about as perfect as it gets."
It was a game that had may highs and lows including the blocked filed goal that was given back to the Packers on a flag for punching the ball forward, which led to a Packers touchdown.
Ben said the sidelines were down because of the fumble that gave the Packers the short field and then were excited that the defense had held and had started onto the field only to see them get the ball back.
"It was a full range of emotions on that play," Roethlisberger said.
He wasn't quite sure what happened on the call or why it was decided that way, but he knew that they needed to respond and they did by marching down the field a scoring a touchdown on the next drive.
Big Ben also added a touchdown run of his own in the game. It was his first of the season and went for 13 yards in the third quarter.
"It was awesome," Roethlisberger said. "Nobody was expecting that out of me. To do that, got the sidelines fired up."
The Steelers blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and it came down to one final drive that resulted in a Le'Veon Bell touchdown run to put Pittsburgh up for good 38-31.
It was a call that Coach Mike Tomlin took heat for because he didn't use more time on the clock, but Roethlisberger said, "We want to score there."
