Big Ben Named Offensive Player Of The Week
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up the second seed in the AFC playoffs by dismantling the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
For his performance in the game, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named the AFC offensive player of the week.
Big Ben completed 15 of 22 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. On their first offensive play of the game, Roethlisberger went deep to Mike Wallace for a 56-yrd touchdown.
That quick strike foreshadowed what was to come for Cleveland, as the Steelers went on to win 41-9.
Pittsburgh earned a first-round bye and the AFC North title with the win.
Third-seeded Indianapolis will host the sixth-seeded New York Jets Saturday night at 8 p.m. The fourth-seeded Chiefs will host the fifth-seeded Ravens on Sunday at 1 p.m.
If Indianapolis wins, they will come to Pittsburgh. If the Jets win, they will head to New England and the Steelers will get the winner of the Ravens and Chiefs.
