Bicyclist Injured In Armstrong Co. Hit & Run
SOUTH BUFFALO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a bicyclist injured in Armstrong County.
The crash happened along Freeport Road near Iron Bridge Road in South Buffalo Township around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
The bicyclist, identified by state police as 46-year-old Brian Weiland of Fennelton, Pa., suffered a severe laceration to the neck in the accident.
According to state police, Weiland was riding southbound on Freeport Road when a vehicle hit him from behind. He was struck by the passenger side mirror and knocked from the bicycle.
Investigators say the vehicle left the scene, headed southbound.
Weiland was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The vehicle police are looking for is described as a white sedan that may have damage to the front, passenger side and is missing the passenger side mirror.
State police continue to investigate the accident.
