Bethel Park Parents Express Anger Over Strike
With the Bethel Park teachers' strike now in its second week, some parents expressed their anger by staging their own protest Wednesday evening.
The parents made signs showing support for the Bethel Park school board and their frustrations over the strike.
The protestors say they want their kids back in the classroom where they belong.
"We're very angry and it's time to end this right now and put them [the students] back in the classroom," said Amy Shay, a parent. "Our kids are bored; they feel like its summer. They're off their schedule; they're forgetting what they just learned for the last couple months."
There is another negotiation session set for Friday.
Seniors will back to class on Nov. 8 if the strike isn't settled by then. According to state law, the rest of the students must return to school by Dec. 5.
