Man Facing Several Charges After Attempt To Evade Police Following Accident In Bethel Park
BETHEL PARK, Pa. (KDKA) - When Bethel Park Police responded to a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon, they didn't expect it to become a chase.
A pickup truck on Brightwood Road was on its side with a female passenger trapped and injured after colliding with an SUV. The driver and passenger of the SUV were injured.
Officers then learned that the driver of the pickup truck was Jeffrey Dezardo, a 27-year-old from Finleyville and he had fled the scene on foot.
He allegedly crashed the truck intentionally, attempting to kill himself and the female passenger. Police chased the man on foot and after located him, took him into custody.
He is being charged with attempted homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, two counts of accidents involving death or personal injury, three counts of recklessly endangering another person, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and other lesser motor vehicle code violations.
