Pittsburgh has a host of fantastic art and craft shows, wine festivals and outdoor activities during Spring. Let these events reintroduce you to the nice warmer weather activities that Pittsburgh has to offer.

In a venue as large as the Monroeville Convention Center, any event is guaranteed to be over the top. The Spring Fever Festival is no different. Boasting 1,800 vendors, the festival will be full of arts and crafts, home and garden goods and more. There is plenty of free parking at this venue and tickets are inexpensive at $5 for adults. Pittsburgh's history in Eastern European nationalities is rich and well celebrated. The annual Easter egg sale at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church helps keep the traditions of Eastern European culture alive. Nearly 2,000 traditional, hand painted eggs called pysanky will be on display for purchase as well as hand embroidered crafts and ethnic foods. For visitors' convenience, pysanky vendors will be accepting credit cards! Admission is free and guided tours of the church and museum will be offered throughout the day.

The Pittsburgh Folk Festival began as a group of Pittsburghers from seventeen different nationalities looking for a way to promote "Unity in Diversity" in the city. Now representative of thirty nationalities and ethnicities, the festival has teamed up with the University of Pittsburgh to bring attendees a true celebration of cultural diversity. Over the course of the two-day festival, visitors can experience a shopping bazaar in Soldiers and Sailors Hall, taste ethnic food from the vendors, educate themselves about cultures that are present in Pittsburgh and be entertained by traditional dances and musical performances. Get a head start on Cinco de Mayo celebrations and live up to the charitable reputation Pittsburghers have by signing up for this Mexican culture inspired, early spring 5k in North Park. This isn't just any weekend 5k event. The start time is a little later than the usual 5k races in our area — and for good reason. After this race, which benefits the Anna Seethaler Hospital in Oaxaca, Mexico, stick around for a Mexican buffet, lively musical performances and lots of raffles and door prizes. What do the Pittsburgh Steelers have in common with one of Pittsburgh's fastest growing annual events? Location! The Pittsburgh Wine Festival is back at Heinz Field again this year for wine lovers of all backgrounds. Whether you are a wanna-be sommelier or a casual wine drinker, there is something for every attendee to learn. Two different wine tastings will be held during the festival: a VIP tasting at 5 p.m. and a Grand Tasting at 7 p.m. Head to the VIP event if you'd like one on one time with winery representatives since the VIP tasting is open to only 800 guests.
